Nina's power packed breakfast!

Hey lovelies!!

So today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite recipies that I make often at my house because it fills everyone up and it's a great way to start your day! Not only is it easy to make but it follows clean and healthy eating and you can store it in the freezer or fridge or make for dinner or have it for lunch all based on what you want to put into it!

I call thing my breakfast pie!

I am going to give you all the steps and ingredients that you are going to need to have to make this okay! So let's get started!

First preheat your oven to 350.
Cookware that you will need is a skillet, a glass pie plate or casserole dish, cutting board, and glass bowl, a wisk and a sharp knife and also a couple of spoons!

Ingredients that I used for this was
8 eggs( I only put four of the yolk in and then used the other four eggs as egg whites)
Celery (just a couple tablespoons full chopped thin)
One medium red onion chopped reserve half for garnish
20 baby Bella mushrooms half chopped the other sliced for garnish
Spinach I am not sure how much because it always shrinks down!
Grape tomatoes sliced in half and I used almost a whole package of them. Reserve half for garnish
And Kirkland brand nonstick spray
And Greek seasoning, Kroger all purpose spice and Kroger zesty garlic spice use to taste.

Okay so first you are going to chop up your celery, onions and mushrooms reserve half of the onions for your garnish
And the mix in your glass bowl and season with your spices, mix thoroughly.

Next spray your skillet and heat on medium heat once your skillet is hot pour your veggies into the skillet and sauté until tender. While this is sautéing crack your eggs in the bowl that had your veggies in it you can use all the yolks or for a lighter option use half or none. Then wisk together and set aside.

Once this is done go ahead and make sure to spray your casserole or pie dish with your nonstick spray and be very generous with it!!!

Once your veggies have finished sautéing  add your spinach to the skillet this is what mine looked like

So much green goodness!!

Okay so while that is cooking down start slicing your grape tomatoes and remember to save half of them for the top of it! Then once you have the halved scoot all your veggies in the skillet over to one side and place them in for about 30 second until they are slightly cooked. And then add all your veggies into your eggs and wisk them together! Then pour into your greased pan which you can stop there if you want too but i always like my super veggie so I make a top layer of veggies!

Then if you want to go ahead and make the top layer of veggies sauté the rest or your onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes together and throw them on top of the pie but DONT mix them in!

So this above photo is what it should look like before cooking!

So then just pop it into the oven and it takes about an hour to cook. Then once it's done you have a ready meal and its nutritious and yummy! You can store this in the freezer by wrapping it in tinfoil or plastic wrap and putting individual slices in freezer bags. And then just microwave them for a minute and twenty second if it is frozen! Thanks guys I hope you enjoy this let me know what you did like about it and if you want to see more of my food let me know!

Love you,
Nina

tarte Amazonian clay liner, lash primer, and lip review

So before I dive right into the review let me start by updating you all to what I've been up to recently. Aside a big announcement which I will post about next, I've also started looking into enrolling at the Paul Mitchell hair school. I have spent 3 or so years working towards a social work degree and have found it less than challenging. I want to help the world and I want to make a difference. But social work is a four year degree and being 25, I'm just ready to start my career and not dance around a 4 year degree taking 3 classes a semester. Therefore I'm hoping if everything goes right, I can start the Paul Mitchell cosmetology school.

After I left open house tonight, I stopped by ulta because for the first time EVER they sent me a random 10 dollars off anything coupon. I'm assuming it's because u never redeem my points at the store and maybe they wanted to be nice. WHO CARES FREE MAKEUP!!! So after 30 minutes of deliberation I picked to try the Amazonian clay liner that I've seen tons of pictures of through instagram. Because I bought tarte, the lady also gave me a free sample of the lip stick and the lash primer. Here are some pictures incase you haven't seen them yet

The three pictures of me are the final products of all 3.

I have to say that I absolutely love LOVE LOVE the boldness of the Amazonian clay. It is definitely more thick and matte than regular liners. It also lasts a very long time and is waterproof as well. It goes great for a bold cat eye which I am usually always wearing.

The lash primer is something that I think is really helpful in creating volume in lashes. It does more volume than length for your lashes but it still creates taller lashes for you.

The thing I love about the lipstick from tarte is that they all come in beautful shiny rubes and the product always smells like mint. Even though I'm not a mint fan, I think it gives it a little extra to the lipstick. Some lipsticks just smell weird and producty..yes I made that word up. I think tarte lips are always above expectation.

Let me know which one of these are your favorite to use!!

Love you always,
Tash

Nina's super healthy eats!

Hi there loves so today I want to talk about eating healthy! I know that a lot of us struggle with this I know I do like everyday but I have found it helpful to make lists and meal plans which is the easy part the hard part is to actually stick with it.

Now eating healthy is not be confused with eating clean. These are two separate things. How you ask, well let me give you some information. Clean eating is cutting out everything in your diet that is processed and that has refined unnatural sugars inside. Eating healthy means that you stick to a caloric diet and cut down on the amount of refined sugars in your diet and also add new and healthy foods to your meals. So another way of thinking is that clean eating is organic and healthy eating is McDonald's just once a week lol. I have tried both and I do prefer clean eating but you must first learn how to eat healthy. It will make the transition much easier for you and your body than just cutting out all of the sugars all at once.

One place I love to shop at is Costco! It is a dream when you want to start eating more healthy. (Oh before I forget one tip is to stop using all canned foods as much as possible no more canned pasta or veggies however tuna is okay still but you should look into leaner and less sodium options such as the pouches) some of my favorite products to get at Costco since we eat so much of them are eggs! They have a few different varieties of them too.(we usually get the 3 dozen eggs packs) another product is veggies I use a lot of them in our meals so I like to buy the basics there and go to Kroger for the others when I need them.

My most common buys are mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes. I use these so much that all that I buy is gone in like two weeks! Sometimes I might get their premade salad mix if I am feeling super veggie that week. Now Costco has some of the best meat variety I have seen at a bulk store but sometimes when you go to a bulk store it's almost never the quality that Costco has. They always have pretty and fresh meat you can actually watch them package it. One of the best meats that I get there is the 90/10 ground bison it's a little under three pounds for around $18 which I know some of you are like whattttttt ground beef for $18 are you crazy well let me explain lol it's bison which is leaner and also more healthy for you than regular ground beef it's also organic.

Another meat product that I get there are Kirkland brand turkey burgers they have 200 calories in one party and they are low in fat and sodium I like to thaw them out and then put them in eggs or pasta.
So I kinda want to recap on what it means once more to eat healthy and to eat clean, so healthy is limiting the amount of processed foods and unnatural sugars okay so just cutting back on your daily diet you can still go out to eat and eat some potatoe chips or whatever you want just in smaller amounts or less frequently. Now clean eating is cutting out all fast foods and processed foods and sugars and eat more organic fresh foods. So let me know about your food goals maybe we can help each other out! I will be posting food recipes and ingredients to go with it so keep an eye out for them!!

Love you all

Sample products review

Hey beautiful dearies!

Last night I went to ultra and I wanted to try some new products that I personally haven't tried before and those were Tree Hut Sugar Scrub, Husk Monoi Oil and Husk Argan Oil, StriVectin eye wrinkle serum, and I have already tried this but I loved it so much a bought a full sized the Pedi-scrub foot buffer in lavender and tea tree oil!

Okay so first thing first the sugar scrub. This product was $4.99 for a small tub of it but when you open it up it's quite a lot of product in this small package. When I first opened it I liked the smell it was pretty fruity but I do prefer more of a floral scent. I decided that I was going to use this before I showered and at first it was pretty messy but they it felt really nice. My suggestion is to either do it in the tub or on a towel because it will get on your floor! So after rubbing the product in for a few minutes on my arms, neck, shoulders, stomach and legs I hopped in the shower that I had let run so that I can get some steam to kinda open up my pores. I continued to rub in the product until all of it had melted and washed away and then I just washed like normal when I got out of the shower my skin felt so good it was softer and more moisturized it also had a glow to it! All and all I think I will be buying a sugar scrub from now on maybe not this one because of the fragrance, but maybe I will test out different ones so that we can all have a little more info!
Okay the next two products that I picked up are the hair oils, both of them smell pleasant they are faint though which I like because I like the smell of my shampoo. I used these both on my wet hair right after my shower and only on my ends because that's my trouble spot. However you can use these on your scalp for a treatment. You can also heat your hair up with a blow dryer to use it as a hot oil treatment. These can be used on dry hair as well which I like for days when I have a little more frizz than usual. All and all a good product. I must warn you though you do not need a lot of this product it is oil and will make your hair greasy if you over do it I used barely a pea sized about on my hair. These are around $1.99-$2.99

The next product is the eye wrinkle serum this I actually got for free from the lady at the check out so thank you for noticing my dark circles lol. I am not sure how much this costs full sized but I do like this product because i did wake up with out any puffiness and with out dark circles it just brightened my eyes so how could you go wrong with this lol.

My last and most favorite product is the foot buffer these retail from $3.99 to $8.99 mine was about $5. This product smells so good and makes my feet feel so great and it actually decreases the amount of calluses on your feet which is important to me because I almost never have time to get a pedicure done but his is almost like have one done it's so good!  It does a wonderful job of moisturizing as well! My feet smell great and feel silly smooth! If you haven't tried it you are missing out! They also have other products that I think I am going to give a try and let you know about.

Well that's all loves it f you have something that you would like me to look at and review please let me know I would love to try it!

Fall Must Have!!

Hello dearies!
So I stumbled upon the most amazing thing yesterday night while my husband was shopping at Dicks Sporting Goods! YAKTRAX CABIN SOCKS!! I know what you're thinking right now how can socks be the best thing in the history of ever??

Well let me tell you how! These socks are so thick and comfy they feel like five inches thick lol! That is just the outside the inside is filled with a fuzzy, super, super soft material and the best part is its ALOE INFUSED! This keeps your feet from drying out during the winter time coldness.

So I wanted to try them out so the first thing I did when I got home was go and hit the shower.
To insure the best experience I first exfoliated with a sugar scrub and then I used a pedi-scrub foot buffer to cleanse the skin and again exfoliate them and try to get some more of the dead skin off. Then after I got out of the shower I used my Victoria's Secret Sheer Love Ultra Moisturizing hand and body cream to moisturize my feet, I let that dry and then I put on my new Cabin Socks and it literally felt like I WAS IN HEAVEN! What a way to cure tired sore feet than a wonderful pair of socks!

They were so comfortable that I was instantly tired so I laid down and had the greatest nights sleep ever! When I woke up in the morning I couldn't believe it I still felt like it was heaven and like I had two little clouds on my feet when i took them off I noticed my feet hadn't even sweat I couldn't believe it they kept them warm and dry at the same time! No smelly furry socks that you are going to have to throw away no they are perfectly dry inside and due to me putting on lotion before hand smelled like my lotion, I also then touched my feet, they were soft and supple and just felt great! Before hand they were sore and cracked and now they just feel rejuvenated.

My advice is to go and get you some right now they are buy one get one free at Dicks and that makes them around $12.99 for two pairs! They are worth it believe me!!

How to make a fall Wreath

Okay ladies and jellyspoons,

Yesterday leading up to today has been a bit rough for me. I felt fine until last night at work when I got my leg ran over by our 50 lb pricing cart while pushing it to the back. After that, my leg developed a welt and it hurt like a mother walking around on it. I came home and ate and then went to bed. Around 5 am I woke up with extreme stomach pains and felt really dehydrated. I decided to stay home from work and get better.

So in the spirit of doing something productive, I decided to make a fall wreath. I have been wanting to make one since we moved in the house, but I had yet to get any projects started. I barely have my sewing machine unpacked and all of my craft supplies are still in the boxes sitting in the closet.

I took a trip to Hobby Lobby once my leg pain wore down a bit and bought the following items:

A $4.99 wooded wreath

(Going back a second time because I forgot) Floral Wire and Wire cutters...although I am more of a
fan of the glue gun to keep things intact. I went 50/50 with this project.

Two individual floral arrangements (these could be bought at the dollar store!! I encourage you to look there first because I bought both of mine at Hobby Lobby and when I stopped by the dollar store, they had the exact same flowers for a dollar a piece.)

I had a V (for my boyfriends and my..future..last name) that I purchased at Babies R Us when I worked there.

Grab some command strips from the store as well unless you want to buy a wreath holder

________

I decided to put together a wreath for the first time and I don't think I did too awful bad for not knowing what I was doing. If I had to do over, I probably would have just spent the money and bought a pre made one lol because it wasn't quite as relaxing as I thought it'd be. But in the spirit of trying new things, it wasn't so bad! I had to move one of the pieces on top because it went up too far. Hope you enjoy!!!

Give some tips and share some photos of your designs!

With much love,

My Hair Care Routine

Hi Darlings,

Nina again tonight! I just cant stay away from you lol.

So I wanted to go over some hair care things that I do that might help you with your problems. My hair before I had it trimmed up was just awful. Mostly because I dye it blonde all the time and multiple other colors when I get bored of it.

A few months ago I started seeing that my hair was not only dry and brittle but it was also tangling up and knotting and it was just frayed at the ends like not even frizzy but just balled up and kinda weird looking. Also it would fall out constantly, like clog up your vacuum kind of falling out. I wish I had a picture to show you maybe I do somewhere like facebook or something, I will have to look.

So I love having long hair, however my hair gets to a certain point that it doesn't want to hair anymore it wants to yarn :/, I found that one of the biggest mistakes I was making was that when I went to do my roots I would dye all of my hair too, Why is this bad you ask, because when you are just trying to do your roots but you put that on your whole head you leave the potential to kill the ends of your hair and make it "gummy" which is not good you will lose all luster to your hair and it will not want to cooperate with you, it will do all of the things that I had mentioned earlier.

That is one of the secrets to growing your hair out long is to keep it one color and just dye the healthy roots so that you can keep the ends healthy.

Next I started only shampooing the top of my hair making sure that I use a clarifying shampoo (like head and shoulders) at least twice a week to keep my hair healthy from build up from products that I use through out the week, this is important because hair will not grow strong and long with a dirty scalp. I do condition my whole head but making sure that I focus on the ends and middle more than the top though. I usually do this step after everything when I am about to get out of the shower so I can let it sit for about two or three minutes.

I DO NOT USE COLD WATER. I hate to use cold water when I rinse my hair, I don't feel like it matters as long as your water isn't super, super hot, they say that using cold water seals up the hair follicles and holds in moisture but when ever I use it I feel as if my hair tangles more, and it doesn't feel as clean as I would like it too.

I do use a deep conditioner about once or twice a week only on the ends once and then all over on the second time. I also use a De-frizzing oil every time I wash my hair right before I blow dry it. I also do not use a brush to blow dry my hair with I always use a wide toothed comb, combing your hair while wet prevents breakage and split ends. Comb went wet, Brush when dry. I also do not blow dry my hair all the way because I like to focus the heat on the top and middle half of my hair so that I can avoid heat damage to the ends of my hair.

Here are some of the products that I use.

Shampoo: Organix Morrocan Argon Oil (and the conditioner)
                 Head and Shoulders (original clean)
Not Your Mothers : Way to Grow ( conditioner and leave in spay)

Deep Conditioners: Its a 10 miracle leave in.
                                Bio silk
                                Aussie 3 minute Miracle Moisture
                                Color Ion Brilliance moisture pack.

De-frizz/ De-tangle: Giovanni Frizz be gone

Those are the main things that I use on my hair. I have tons of other products but these are the main ones.
Here is what my hair looks like after using these products.

Nina

Drug Store Makeup vs Department Store Makeup

Hey lovelies!

So I just wanted to kinda talk about the two biggest types of cosmetics out there since there are literally so many brands, I want to make it my personal mission to shed some light on if you should or should not buy certain  types or brands and what have you.

Okay so lets get started with some basic questions, Does it matter if you buy expensive makeup or can i get away with buying drug store cosmetics?

The truth is that you can do both. Yes some products are better for your skin but its not always the expensive brands that you think of. Of course some of the cheaper products can be a little bit more harsh on your skin. So when shopping do a little research, now I know what your thinking.... UMMM Nina isn't that your job to tell us what exactly to buy??!! Well to an extent, however everyone's taste is different, for example: I am very picky about mascara and eye shadow!!! But back on topic, okay so do some light research such as product reviews, ask your friends (the ones that will be honest), comment on our blog and I will pick the product up and try it and tell you everything you need to know on it okay.

Moving on, What brands are best well this of course is up to your own personal preference okay, my personal likes are in the expensive brands I love Too Faced Cosmetics, I love their vintage feel, I have only tried certain products from their line of cosmetics however because they are kinda pricey and I do tend to stay on the cheaper side of make up. My favorites are their Better Than Sex mascara, their highlighter duo called Candle Light Glow!(it gives me luminous skin with minimal product), I also have their Christmas set called La Bella Carousel, In this set it has two blush and bronzer duos, four shadow quads!!! and also it came with a trial size of the better than sex mascara. I also like Urban Decay, I have their Naked 3 pallet (a must have for blue eyes) and I had their shadow potion primer in Sin and Eden. These work really well and they make a huge difference in how your shadow looks.

As for Drugstore makeup brands, I love Rimmel, Hard Candy (most of their items are between $5 and $10), Maybelline, Elf( $1-$6) This is one of the cheapest brands however they do a really nice job with their products, one of my favorites from them is a dupe of Nars' Laguna and Orgasm duo, I will have to get the name later to you. I also love L'Oreal however they are a little more on the expensive side of the drugstore brands.

Okay so the next question is the cheaper makeup more harsh on your skin. For me I was pretty curious about this question okay so while I was in Tennessee, I decided that I was going to go to the spa and get examined by an esthetician. The reason being is because they are skin care experts and I wanted to know if what I was doing was hurting my skin and a dermatologist is a bit more expensive but you get the same kind of care from  and esthetician okay so I went in for my appointment and she said tell me all the products that you use on my skin daily, so two hours later after I told her all about my catalog of products, she the proceeded to examine my skin, after she cleaned it with a clarisonic brush and some kind of cleaner she told me that my skin looked great but it could use a bit more moisturizer which I already knew, But I asked her does it really matter if I use cheaper makeup and she said as long as you apply moisturizer and primer or serum to your skin before then there isn't any reason to worry.  So I put my worries a side and started to moisturize more and wear my primer under my makeup every time I put it on.

Oh by the way if you have not had a facial please, please, please go and get one its one of the most relaxing things everrrrrr!! I love it more than a massage and a pedicure put together!

Well I hope this helped a little bit with some of your questions please feel free to comment and ask me all about the products you want to know about!

Love Ya<3

Nina

I like to have a more natural look for my every day makeup.

My $80 grocery budget and meal prepping plan

So I thought I'd get into a little personal note about my journey for a healthy lifestyle. Six months ago, I was living at home and eating fast food every night. I'm 25 and a college student, so this shouldn't be too surprising to anyone who has ever been in that situation. I didn't take the time to go buy food at the store because I didn't know how to cook. What would happen is that I would spend an alarming 50 bucks on food that I would burn or dislike after making. I pretty much gave up and accepted the fast food lifestyle.

6 months later here I am living in a beautiful house with my boyfriend and working on changing my lifestyle around to be more healthy for the both of us. My boyfriend knew how to cook less than I did so it was a challenge to learn everything on my own. What we've done to create this is to keep a budget of about $80 every two or three weeks to get food for the house. Since I'm the only one cooking, I've developed a grocery list that is only made up of fresh produce, fresh meats, and then about $20 to spend on seasoning and other condiments/spices.
Here is the picture:

This consisted of about 20 or 30 dollars in fresh meats (on the left.) I've got about 3 to 4 pounds of chicken, 2 pounds of ground beef (I buy kroger trim round beef because this is kroger filet minon and top meats combined together which is way better quality than a packaged pound of ground beef.)  I have over a pound of ribs and a package of spicy Italian sausage.
Then I have all of fresh fruits and produce in the middle. It is easy to throw peppers in with any meals and the more colorful you make the meal, the healthier it is for you. I also always make a fruit bowl and a salad pre made for my boyfriend. He likes these to be made up so that it is not only easier to pack for work, but harder to say no to the healthier options in the fridge. Here's a glimpse:
Another way that I make things easier on me is to meal prep while I already have the items out and ready to unload from the store. I always open the packages of the meat and place half in a freezer bag and store them frozen while placing the other halves into marinated seasoning to place in the fridge. This is about a five or ten minute process and saves me about 30 minutes every time I cook. This is because meat tastes so much better when laid out in seasoning for a day or so. It also means I don't have to come home and marinade, wait for an hour, and then cook for an hour. Now I can just throw them in a baking pan or get the crock pot going before work and it will be done in no time.

Usually at the store, I will spend about another 25 to 20 dollars on seasonings and condiments. Usually kroger has 10 for $10 sales and I like to take advantage of cheap deals and stock up the pantry. So between these items and the packets that I buy ($1 a piece), I can try a lot of new flavors and try out new recipes I find on pinterest and apps that I have on my phone like the food network.

With the remaining amount I will either buy the household items that we need or take the time to buy a little but from the frozen sections. Now the biggest mistake I made in the past is buying frozen chicken breasts, frozen pizzas, and fries and such. It is so much healthier to buy fresh because the frozen meals you eat have so much sodium because that's how they preserve the items for so long. They have tons of unhealthy chemicals due to packaging and it's actually the same price to buy fresh. This week I decided to buy the jtm hoagie kits and some garlic knots instead of making home made garlic bread. Little things like these make it easier on me once or twice a week to just relax and not cook.

It's also healthier and just as easy to make your own pizza or make your own potatoes wedges. For example, I just cut up some potatoes, use an it loan herb seasoning, throw in a clove up garlic chopped, and cover the pan in aluminum foil. I throw this in the oven for thirty minutes with some cheese or maybe bacon and then you have the best side of potatoes you'll ever eat. And if you buy a bag of potatoes, you're only using three from the whole bag to have an entire tray of potatoes like so:

When you think about how you are going to eat out a couple of nights a week, you can really start to see how much money 80 bucks will buy you. We haven't went shopping in a month and we got the same amount of food last time as we did in this trip. Taking advantage of online coupons is a great way to start saving money as well.

Here are some of the prep meals I've made in the past couple weeks...
This is my lemon pepper chicken

This was my after and before picture of chicken with Cajun seasoning, red, yellow, and red peppers, chives, carbonara sauce, and spaghetti.

This was my first successful attempt as barbecue chicken with just some chicken rub and sweet baby rays sauce.

Makeup before and afters

Hello darlings,
Today I feel like sharing with you no makeup looks vs full finished products. If you've read my previous everyday makeup you can compare the difference between no makeup (minus my eyeliner) and my everyday face.

I feel like sharing this today because I have been in a very "natural" state lately where I've been wearing no eyeliner and foundation. I've been allowing my skin a little breathing room.

I'm also in the midst of change (hopefully) because I ordered some remy hair extensions which I plan on giving a review on as soon as they arrive in the mail.

Share with us your before and after and discuss your favorite makeup below!

1.When I decided to go make up free all day but Werk it out for a date night. (Probably would have looked cuter during the day.)

2. The transition of pj's to normal clothes. This lipstick is beautiful by buxom in the color undressed. I love the matte nude look. I'm also wearing this lipstick in the before and after above as well. RIP lost lipstick.. I still love you.

 3. And This was before and after a hair cut so a bit dramatic for an before and after. But I love the NARS highlighter in the after picture.

Thanks for stopping by!
